Welcome to SMA kindergarten!  My name is Kathy Shuman and it has been my life’s work and passion teaching young children.  I thrive on creating a positive, happy and successful environment that fosters a love for learning.  In our kindergarten classroom we encourage and cultivate friendships, teamwork, kindness, curiosity, and promote an “I can” attitude. The joy of learning all subjects is celebrated in our classroom while seamlessly entwining and teaching Catholic virtues.

During my professional career, I was fortunate enough to have been selected as an educator of excellence and spent three years in a cohort studying best practices and visiting schools across the U.S. and Israel.   I feel so blessed to be in such a wonderful school community…. SMA!
